Yes! Allegra Pilates is an inclusive studio. Our classes are suitable for a range of ages and fitness levels.
If you would like to ease into it though, we do offer a 6 week Intro to Pilates course, next intake commences Tuesday 11th February, 2025: BOOK NOW

We also offer Private & duo sessions by appointment - please contact us to enquire.

I'M PREGNANT - IS PILATES SUITABLE FOR ME?
Congratulations! Pilates is amazing for the pre-natal & post-partum periods of life, and our instructors are all trained & experienced in pre-natal Pilates, to ensure you receive professional guidance throughout your participation in our programs.

You are welcome to attend all class types with the exception of Advanced Reformer & Reformer HIIT as these classes include higher intensity cardiorespiratory exercise and some balancing movements which may not be suitable for pre-natal participants.

Please let us know in advance if you are new to reformer. A private appointment may be the best way to get you started.

At all sessions, please let your instructor know how far along you are in your pregnancy before the session commences, so that we may offer you any necessary modifications during the class program.

Please note that in a small percentage of pregnancies, physical activity may place the mother and/or baby at higher risk - if you are unsure it is best to consult your health care provider to obtain written consent to participate in Pilates.

Similarly, post-partum people are very welcome to attend our sessions (as are non-mobile babies).

We offer a specialised post-natal program called Restore, which is held at our Thornton studio, 11am on Tuesdays.

Please ensure you are at least 6 weeks post-partum and have had clearance from your health care provider before returning to Pilates.

Pilates is an excellent form of movement to assist your body with recovery, gentle stretching and strengthening during the post-partum period.
CAN I BRING MY CHILD WITH ME TO CLASS?
We love babies and children, and we love to see parents participating in Pilates! In general, babies & children are welcome to come along to the studio.

However, please note that we are a Pilates studio, not a play centre (and we do not have a creche). You are responsible for the safety of your child at all times in the studio, and we recommend bringing toys, books or an ipad (with headphones) to occupy your child during their visit.
So the answer is yes, babies & kids are welcome, but please be aware of safety and the comfort of other class participants.
Pilates can be a time out from the busy-ness of life, and an act of self care, and as such if your child is loud or disruptive you will be asked to re-schedule your session.

Please understand that your instructor's job is to teach Pilates to a group, we are unable to supervise your child whilst teaching.
We want to keep everyone safe & enable you all to get the most enjoyment from your Pilates session!
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR MY CLASS?
Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in, and clean grip socks are a must! Bring a water bottle.

Put your phone on silent so you and your fellow participants are not disturbed during the session.

Upon arrival, take any available spot (out of fairness & respect to everyone, particular spots or certain reformers cannot be reserved).
